Networking Top Tips!

1. Remember: it’s daunting for everyone! If you’re in a conversation, make sure to include others who may be on the sidelines and looking a bit nervous; they could be a potentially great business partner who’s just a little nervous.

2. Pay attention to who you’re speaking to. If the conversation you’re in is made up of 95% you talking, who’s really benefitting? Ask questions in your groups, dig deeper, get to know the people there to build a real, concrete rapport. It’ll be much more beneficial in the long term.

3. Don’t sell! This is a Yorkshire Mafia rule… you’re there to network – properly! Get to know people but don’t sell to them, find out how you can help them, their family, their friends, and how they can help you too! It’s amazing what you might learn.
