Twisted team are on a Swiss roll

Twisted Automotive swapped the rolling hills of North Yorkshire for the snow-capped mountains of Switzerland when the company showcased two stunning re-engineered Land Rover Defender vehicles at this year’s Geneva International Motor Show.
The Thirsk-based team made up part of a small corner of Yorkshire relocated amid the lakes and mountains, with neighbouring stands occupied by Garforth-based Ginetta, Huddersfield’s David Brown and bespoke manufacturer Eaden Green, from Holmfirth.
Attending the world-famous event for the first time, Twisted travelled more than 800 miles to give eager motor enthusiasts a glimpse of a unique Stage One V8 Defender and a modern interpretation of the Series II Defender, complete with roof rack, ski holder and winch.
The Stage One V8 in Fuji White featured a new Rostyle wheel, Series V8 hip stripe and newly developed front bumper – and was promptly snapped up by a buyer at the show.
The Geneva International Motor Show is known for being one of the more ostentatious events on the circuit, with household names such as Porsche, Jaguar, Lamborghini and McLaren fighting for the limelight as they showcase their latest models.
However, Twisted made more than its fair share of headlines in national media both at home and abroad. The vehicles were filmed for BBC1’s Business Briefing while editors from Europe, Australia and the Middle East stopped by the stand to learn more about the Twisted philosophy of taking the iconic Defender and re-engineering it into being the best vehicle it can be, while carefully retaining the identity and heritage of the original.
The Twisted team were also on hand to chat about Remake History, the final batch of delivery mileage Defender vehicles that will be available to the public to buy. Marking three years since the end of production, the collection comprises high specification, limited edition vehicles will be adapted and built to a pre-determined spec that delivers comfort, performance and incredible handling both on- and off-road.
Managing director Charles Fawcett said: “Being able to showcase our brand in Geneva this year really drives home how much our media presence has grown, and the excitement witnessed from visitors filled us with the satisfaction that we have created a vehicle that buyers want.
“It was definitely a worthwhile visit, we even grabbed a moment to admire the other remarkable vehicles at the show.”
