Manahatta: Big Apple glamour heading to York

York’s ever-evolving nightlife scene is about to get an upgrade as glamorous NYC-inspired cocktail bar Manahatta rolls into town this November. The venue will be the sixth opening from the seemingly unstoppable bar and will reside in the site previously occupied by Banyan Bar & Kitchen on Little Stonegate.

The £400k investment is underway as we speak and will feature all the unique Instagrammable features that define Manahatta. Think contemporary cool, neon signage and stylish peacock blue booths that allow guests to soak up the atmosphere with a little more privacy set in an exciting party vibe.

Expect unique and exciting cocktails using the best ingredients, US themed menus and an exceptional bottomless brunch offering that’s designed to get the party started in style. The bespoke cocktail list has been carefully curated by bar development manager Mark Austin, who has created some of the company’s most popular drinks in his 12 years working for owner Arc Inspirations, which runs brands Manhatta, Banyan Bar & Kitchen and BOX.

Exotic Grande Geisha Girl

Key concoctions include the Thyme Square Cooler, which blends gin with lemon, Fair goji liqueur, grapefruit, thyme and lemonade to create a zesty citrus bomb. Another bestseller is the Staten Island Iced Tea, which remixes the beloved cocktail classic with gin, Bacardi Carta Balance rum, Woodford Reserve bourbon, Cointreau orange liqueur, lemonade, hibiscus and lemon.

The signature Manahatta Spritz is a proven customer favourite with its mix of Tanqueray gin, Campari, house cordial and grapefruit soda. There is also a classics menu, which utilises premium international brands to create the very best versions of the Old Fashioned and Pornstar Martini you’ll find in town.

A selection of Sharing Cocktails will also be available for those looking to celebrate a special occasion (or, simply the fact that it’s Friday), including the Magnum Aperol Spritz, Magnum Spritz, Supreme Pornstar and the exotic Grande Geisha Girl.

The Manahatta brand is famous for making the most of the weekend and York will be no exception, with the best local DJ’s dropping an eclectic mix of upfront bangers and cool cuts from the last few decades.

Vibrant NY food scene

Those arriving hungry will not be left disappointed, as a mouth-watering all-day menu will be on-hand to cater to all tastes. Bestselling dishes include the mighty Empire State Chicken and the Mac Lasagne with slow cooked beef brisket.

A range of stacked burgers include the Godfather, which is a towering stack of beef, fried chicken, pancetta, pulled pork and Monterey Jack Cheese with all the trimmings. Meanwhile, the Beyond Brooklyn will take you to vegan junk food heaven with its juicy plant-based patty, pulled BBQ jack fruit and vegan cheese and chipotle.

Those on a health kick might want to look to the nutritious Sunshine Powerbowl, which is loaded with avocado, beetroot, turmeric quinoa, sweet potato, pickled onion and other vitamin packed goodness.

Big city brunch

Manahatta are also known for their epic deals and York will have plenty to shout about. Bottomless brunch is available everyday until 4pm for £27.95 and includes a delicious main and 90 minutes of unlimited Prosecco, Aperol Spritz, Bloody Marys or pints of Coors. Their bottomless party is available from 4pm at £29.95 and includes the same unlimited drinks plus a dish from the dinner menu all soundtracked by the house DJ.

You’ll be able to enjoy their Instagram worthy 2-4-1 cocktails all day every day and Don’t Walk, Dance takes place every Thursday night and is the only way to strut into the weekend. For just £20, guests can enjoy two small plates, three cocktails and a live DJ.

Celebrate with Manahatta

The best hosts in town will also be on hand to help party-goers organise the ultimate party for friends from private VIP events to work Christmas parties. With an exquisite private dining room on the top mezzanine already in high demand, as well as a range of other areas available for private hire, Manahatta are happy to put together bespoke party packages for their customers.

Arc Inspirations CEO, Mark Wolstencroft, had this to say ahead of the launch:

‘’We’ve been blown away by the reaction to the Manahatta brand across Leeds, Manchester and Harrogate and are thrilled to be launching in this historic city. Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, dropping in for a business lunch or require something unique for a private event, Manahatta York can deliver.’’

‘’Watch this space for details of the launch, as it’s going to be a party that York doesn’t forget for a long time.’’
