Dove House Hospice named as The Sunday Times fifth best Not-For-Profit Organisation to work for in UK

Dove House Hospice has been named the fifth best Not-For-Profit company in The Sunday Times list of 100 best Not-For-Profit Organisations to work for in 2019.
The local hospice, which provides palliative care for people with life limiting illnesses, also secured a Best Companies three-star ‘extraordinary’ rating – the top possible score available.
With thousands of companies from across the UK contending for a place, The Sunday Times Best Companies list celebrates and showcases the very best in workplace engagement, with the staff themselves providing the responses that gauge the factors that separate good employers from the rest.
The announcement was made at a special ceremony held at Battersea Evolution in London, which saw those that made the top 100 list recognised for their achievements.
Maintaining their position in the list from last year, the hospice has continued to work hard to provide their team with the best possible working conditions.
To celebrate, the team at Dove House will be treat to a staff party on 1st March, which is also known as Best Companies Day. Stores across the region will also be showcasing their creativity by decorating shop windows and celebrating within the community.
Anna Wolkowski, chief executive at Dove House, says: “I am absolutely delighted that we have retained our three-star Best Companies Accreditation which shows we have ‘extraordinary’ levels of staff engagement, and securing fifth place in The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to work for is the icing on the cake.
“With a focus on care and wellbeing, both of these awards show that we are a charity that people can trust to be an excellent employer with sound values and principles. Bearing in mind that there are 200,000 registered charities in the UK and over 470,000 social enterprises, many of which could and do apply for these awards, we have a great deal to be proud of.

Registered as a charity in May 1980, Dove House Hospice delivers physical, social, psychological and spiritual support, embracing both patients and their family with warmth, understanding and friendship. A home away from home for many, Dove House ensures that patients are at the focus of their care.
Though maintained by some Government funding, the majority of Dove House’s running costs are raised in the local community, meaning there is no charge for any of the hospice’s services.
