Diverse portfolio helps local contractor shape Yorkshire’s infrastructure

Esh Civils is helping to shape Yorkshire’s infrastructure as it continues its growth, securing several key public and private sector contracts.

Esh Civils, a delivery arm of Esh Construction, is reaping the rewards of its appointment to the YORcivils2 framework, a procurement route for 22 local authorities across the Yorkshire and Humber region.

The appointment has helped the firm secure flood alleviation works at Cottingham & Orchard Park and regenerative public realm works at Gypsey Race, Hull, for East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

The team is also delivering projects for private sector clients which include enabling works for Henry Boot Developments Ltd in Skipton and Bloor Homes in Sheffield.

Ross Markwell, Head of Business Development at Esh Civils, said: “Yorkshire is a key growth area for our Civils division. We have worked across the Yorkshire region for a decade now and we are fully committed to providing infrastructure of the highest quality.

“Our success is testament our sound financial footing, our robust local supply chain and our ability to deliver industry leading Social Value.”

Esh Civils’ Runswick Bay coastal protection scheme was recently awarded an ICE Certificate of Excellence, won a Green Apple Environmental award and North Yorkshire Moor’s National Park Landscape Project of the Year.

Their broad Civils portfolio also includes infrastructure work at Logic Leeds Park and operational improvements for ASOS’s Barnsley and Doncaster distribution centres. Within the last 18 months, they have completed pinch point highway improvement schemes at A61 Birdwell Junction and junctions 37 and 44 of the M1 motorway.

Operating from its regional office in Leeds, Esh Construction has committed to employing and procuring locally as it rolls out its sustainable growth plan into 2020.

The firm is the only contractor in the Yorkshire region to hold the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Social Mobility & Promoting Opportunity and recently became a Patron member of the West and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.
