Commercial glazing specialist scoops up Huddersfield Town’s latest Shooting Stars Award

Dortech Group has been crowned the winner of Huddersfield Town’s Shooting Stars Award – created in association with Lucas Lee.

First established a quarter of a century ago, the Huddersfield-based firm has been designing, manufacturing, installing and maintaining bespoke glazing solutions ever since, and has worked on a catalogue of project with brands such as the NHS, Sheffield Business Park and the Victoria Mills residential complex in Shipley – to name just a few.

The award win comes after it was announced last month that the company’s glazing maintenance division is forecast to almost double its turnover to £1m in 2019, which will take Dortech to a £10m organisation overall. The business’s expansion – which comes as a result of a growing reputation and complex market conditions – has also kickstarted a recruitment drive and a £200,000 investment in the team’s Huddersfield factory.

Commenting on the news that Dortech had been chosen as the Shooting Stars Award winner.

Group MD James Sutherland said:

“We’re so pleased that our contribution to the local business scene has been recognised though this homegrown award scheme.

“Instead of shying away from the UK’s uncertain political and economic backdrop, we’ve taken strategic steps to ensure that our organisation continues to thrive, and it’s so rewarding to see the team’s efforts being noticed.”

The firm’s maintenance division is the fastest growing part of the company – with more projects, team members and technological investment forecast for the coming year.

Chris Lee, managing director of Lucas Lee, said:

“The set up at Dortech is fantastic and with great potential to expand as the business continues to grow. I wish James and all the team the best of success for the future and look forward to potentially working with them in the future.”

Sean Jarvis, commercial director of Huddersfield Town, commented:

“What James and the team have done at Dortech is fantastic, especially in this economic climate. It was a pleasure to meet the whole team and speak to so many town fans who all speak very highly of their boss, James and the company.

“I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming games.”
