Next-Up Summer Garden Party

The Next-Up summer garden party is a social event for anyone coming up to retirement – or already in retirement – who is looking for ways to use their skills and build their networks.

We have three organisations looking for chairs, trustees, advisers with really interesting projects. At the party they will each give a two-minute talk on their organisations and will then be happy to discuss the opportunities with individuals throughout the evening:

• An initiative to match Next-Up skills to charities and social enterprises looking for non-executives, project help (some of which may be paid) and mentors
• An opportunity for a group of Next-Up individuals to help shape and lead a project which is the initiative of prominent high profile entrepreneurs and businesswomen of the region supported by some of the region’s largest businesses (including DLA, EY and Barclays) to use the skills of people coming up to retirement in primary schools
• Meanwood Valley Urban Farm, who is looking for Trustees, a new Chair of Trustees and help with a number of projects inc risk framework, governance advice, strategy and creating an app

We will be serving paella – with non-seafood and vegetarian versions.  Plus canapés, salads and summer desserts, along with wines and beers.
