Monty Rakusen's Studio

Monty has a career’s worth of experience working worldwide, shooting dramatic and impactful photography. He specialises in Industry, Engineering, Science and Energy, creating unique brand-building images that make clients stand out.

His approach to every project is to spend time observing and planning, working with the client to understand their needs, and goes to great lengths to make every project a success. Depending on the shoot and the environment, he will work with his camera tethered to his laptop for greater accuracy, or sometimes handheld. Monty is currently shooting with Nikon’s most advanced mirrorless camera, the Nikon Z8 (https://www.nikon.co.uk/en_GB/product/cameras/z-8) and a suite of Nikkor Z lenses and specialist Sigma art lenses. He also has a beautiful purpose-built studio.

Monty builds spontaneity and drama into all his pictures. He always works with an assistant, and there’s a small team back in the studio making sure everything goes seamlessly. He likes to meet in person, loves generating ideas, and prefers to visit locations and recce whenever possible. He is extremely experienced working in difficult, noisy and challenging environments, and it’s his respectful and friendly demeanour which creates an atmosphere for success; he is able to curate – and then capture – pride, inspiration, and excellence, in the most sterile or industrial of settings.

Our collection has gained worldwide popularity and has become a significant source of promoting industry, with a particular emphasis on ethnicity and women at work.
